Site not showing up in Google search?

Mar 13, 2018Marketing

There are several possible reasons why your site might not seem to be showing up in Google search results. Here is a listing of the most common reasons:

The Google search engines have not indexed your site as yet.
If your site is new and does not consist of any inbound links, it could take Google search engine up to a week or more to find your website. Once Google crawlers (programs) find your site, it could take more time for it to be pushed out to the index. If your site is currently found on the second page of Google search results it is considered to be a great starting point. If not, no worries it will make its way there with some TLC (Tender love and care) from you and your support team.

Your site is not optimized enough for Google search engine crawling.
Once your site is submitted to Google, their spiders (programs) crawl your site for content. The crawlers scan your site for meta content, keyword saturation, rich content, and other factors. Our recommendation would be to ensure that your website content consists of search terms that are related to your product/service. These terms could be considered relevant to Google search engine.

Once Google search engines index your site, your site will start to display in queried search results. However, this does not necessarily mean that your site will show up on the first page of Google search results.

Recommendations
When designing a website ensure that your content suits your main target group. Your main goal is to instantly grasp and keep visitors’ attention so that they stay on your page instead of existing. According to statistics, internet readers intend to have a short attention span than print media readers (ex. newspapers). This means that website content should be shorter than printed form content. Ideally, you should break up large content (paragraphs) with images, diagrams or other elements.

Submitting a site to Google is not an indication that the site is optimized for search engine inclusion. Search engine optimization (SEO) is described as the process of refining a website to obtain a higher ranking in search engine results. By optimizing your site, you can tailor your site to be search engine-friendly. SEO is an on-going process, the more time you put into it, the greater of a return you will see in your rankings.
